Effects of multiwall carbon nanotubes in reducing microcrack formation on electrophoretically deposited TiO2 film

摘要
Nanocomposite TiO2/multiwall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) film was successfully coated on a F-SnO2 conducting substrate by electrophoretic deposition. We found that a small addition of MWCNTs (1 wt.% and 5 wt.%) in the TiO2 solution could significantly reduce the TiO2 cracks. SEM analysis reveals that MWCNTs are well dispersed in the film, and the amount of MWCNTs incorporated on the film is increased with the increase of the carbon nanotubes concentration. X-ray diffraction and Raman spectroscopy results indicate that TiO2 particles deposited on the film are mostly anatase. (C) 2008 Elsevier BY. All rights reserved.
