Ten anatomical variants of the human foot and ankle were studied at the College of Pediatric Medicine and Surgery from 1988 through 1994. The study emphasized data regarding the rate of occurrence of muscular, tendinous, and arterial variants in a large sample cadaveric population. Literature review of presented variants showed similar findings for eight of the ten variations studied. In the current study, the peroneus quartus muscle and flexor digitorum brevis tendons had occurrence rates that deviated from past literature.
