Spectrophotometric determination of bismuth in pharmaceutical samples by extraction of the tetraiodobismuthate(III) anion into propylene carbonate

摘要
Bismuth (0-160 mu g) can be determined spectrophotometrically at 486 nm after its extraction as hydrogen tetraiodobis-muthate(III) into propylene carbonate. The effects of reagent conditions, ionic strength and diverse ions are reported. The system has been applied to the determination of bismuth in pharmaceutical samples.
