Pure intermolecular vibrational relaxation of the OH bending mode of water molecules

摘要
The study of pure intermolecular vibrational relaxation of the OH bending mode of water molecules was presented. The saturated solutions of H2O in CHCl3 and CDCl3 were also studied. It was shown that when the excitation frequency was tuned to the maximum of the OH bending absorption located at 1601 cm-1 in both mixtures, the absorption was bleached, accompanied by an induced absorption with a maximum at 1563 cm -1. The observed differences of the OH bending relaxation rate of H2O in CHCl3 and CDCl3 were apparently due to the different resonance structure of the solvent molecules.
