The effect of coordinated solvent ligands on the solid-state structures of compounds involving uranyl nitrate and Schiff bases

摘要
A range of solvent adducts of uranyl complexes of the Schiff base ligands salen (salen=N,N'-ethylenebis(salicylidenimine)) and salpn (=N,N'-propylenebis(salicylidenimine)) have revealed similar morphologies about the uranium centre. Subtle differences in hydrogen bonding arrays, types of solvents and conformation of the Schiff base ligands result in vastly different crystal packing motifs. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd.
