Thermally-induced formation of atomic Au clusters and conversion into nanocubes

摘要
A thermal method for converting Au colloids into atomic Au clusters and subsequent growth of Au nanocubes from clusters is reported. Mass spectral analysis shows that these clusters are Au trimers. The Au clusters show distinct optical absorption at 305 and 250 nm and have extraordinary stability under ambient conditions. Copyright © 2004 American Chemical Society.
