Magnesium hydride is prepared by reactive mechanical alloying. The catalytic effect of a small amount of nickel, added to the starting mixture, is examined. The influence of nickel on the decomposition temperature of the hydride is subsequently studied. (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier Science S.A. All nights reserved.
