Sintering and dielectric properties of Ba2Ti9O20 microwave ceramics by glass addition

MgO-CaO-SiO2-Al2O3 (MCAS) glass, which is fabricated by the sol-gel method, is selected as the sintering aid of Ba2Ti9O20 ceramics. The effect of adding glass on the sintering and dielectric properties of Ba2Ti9O20 ceramics is investigated. The crystalline phases of MCAS-Ba2Ti9O20 ceramics are Ba2Ti9O20 and cordierite. As the content of MCAS glass increases, the density curve is shifted to lower sintering temperature. For the densified MCAS-Ba2Ti9O20 ceramics, the dielectric constants (at 1 MHz) decrease with increasing MCAS glass content.
