The microstructure and compressive properties in NiAl(Co) alloys by HPXD technique

摘要
The microstructures of NiAl(Co) alloys produced by hot press exothermic dispersion (HPXD) technique have been studied by means of optical microscopy, XRD, and TEM. The results show that, with the different amount of the third element Co adding, the structure of the alloys is a little bit different. NiAl-7Co alloy mainly consists of beta-NiAl and gamma'-Ni3Al; however NiAl-14Co mainly consists of beta-NiAl, gamma'-Ni3Al and some NiAl martensite. The data of compressive testing at room temperature show that the room temperature ductility of NiAl(Co) alloys has been greatly improved by adding proper amount of Co. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V.
