The concept of effective spheres in the theory of bimolecular processes in liquid solutions

摘要
A general kinetic law governing the attainment of a rate constant steady state in irreversible reactions in liquid solutions has been deduced in the case of mixing by free motion in configuration space. Based on this law, the applicability of the absorbing sphere concept for a qualitative description of irreversible reactions in liquid solutions has been analysed, and results for rate constant long-term asymptotics in the specific case of diffusion-influenced reactions has been examined.
