Yuan Ming Yuan means `the garden of perfect brightness'. It is one of the three most important architecture projects in Chinese history together with the Great Wall and the Dun Huang Caves. The garden of gardens was burned to the ground in one of the worst acts of cultural vandalism in recorded history. To bring Yuan Ming Yuan back to life, a digital version using computer graphics is developed. Alias/Wavefront Studio software is used as the basic tool for the project. It's a perfect modeling tool for intricate and organic-looking Chinese classical architecturer and landscape. Studio's full suite of tools for texture mapping and rendering helped in generating the imagery needed.
