A new pentacyclic triterpene was isolated from the callus induced from the stem cuttings of Prerocarpus santalinus. Based on spectral methods, the structure of the new compound was elucidated as 3-ketooleanane (1). (C) 2000 Published by Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
