Synthesis of mono- and bimetallic ruthenium carbonyl compounds from ring-coupled bis(cyclopentadienyl thallium) reagents. The molecular structures of [Ru(CO)(2)][Ru(CO)(2)Cl][eta(5),eta(5):eta(1)-C5H4(CH2)(2)CC5H3], Ru-2(CO)(4)[eta(5),eta(5)-C5H4(CH3)(2)SiC5H4] and [Ru(CO)(2)Br][Ru(CO)(2)Cl][eta(5),eta(5)-C5H4C2H4C5H4]

摘要
Reaction of ring-coupled bis(cyclopentadienylthallium) compounds of the general form Tl-2[C(5)H(4)LC(5)H(4)], where L = CH2-, (CH3)(2)C-, (CH3)(2)Si-, C2H4-, with [Cl2Ru(CO)(3)](2) was found to form a family of mono- and bimetallic complexes including compounds of the form: Ru-2(CO)(4)(eta(5),eta(5)-C(5)H(4)LC(5)H(4)), Ru(CO)(2)(eta(5),eta(5.1):-C(5)H(4)LC(5)H(4)) [Ru(CO)(2)][Ru(CO)(2)Cl](eta(5),eta(5):eta(1)-C(5)H(4)LC(5)H(3)), and [Ru(CO)(2)Cl](2)(eta(5),eta(5)-C(5)H(4)LC(5)H(4)). These compounds have been completely characterized by IR, H-1 and C-13 NMR, mass spectrometry and elemental analysis. The molecular structures of several compounds in this series have been determined: [Ru(CO)(2)][Ru(CO)(2)Cl][eta(5),eta(5):eta(1)-C5H4(CH2)(2)CC5H3]: triclinic, P (1) over bar, a = 7.812(3) Angstrom, b = 9.004(2) Angstrom, c = 12.773(5) Angstrom, alpha = 84.33(3)degrees, beta = 75.26(3)degrees, gamma = 80.93(3)degrees, V = 857.3(6) Angstrom(3) Z = 2, R(F) = 3.52%. Ru-2(CO)(4)[eta(5),eta(5)-C5H4(CH3)(2)SiC5H4]; monoclinic, P2(1)/n, a = 11.036(2) Angstrom, b = 13.660(2) Angstrom, c = 11.621(2) Angstrom, beta = 105.83(2)degrees, V = 1688.6(5) Angstrom(3), Z = 4, R(F) = 2.68%; [Ru(CO)(2)Cl][Ru(CO)(2))Br](eta(5),eta(5)-C5H4C2H4C5H4):, monoclinic, C2/c, a = 25.237(3) Angstrom, b = 6.049(1) Angstrom, c = 12.646(2) Angstrom, beta = 109.73(1)degrees, V = 1817(2) Angstrom(3), Z = 4, R(F) = 4.37%.
