Criterion validity of lower extremity Motricity Index scores

Objective: To examine the criterion validity of lower extremity Motricity index scores. Design: Retrospective cross-sectional comparison of lower extremity Motricity Index scores and hand-held dynamometer measurements obtained from 15 patients with stroke. Results. For individual actions (ankle dorsiflexion, knee extension and hip flexion) and all actions combined, Pearson correlations were good to excellent (r = 0.38-0.91), significant (p < 0.001), and of high power (greater than or equal to 99%). Conclusions: The findings of this study support the criterion validity of the lower extremity Motricity Index.
