The S-N interactions are very weak in S-nitrosothiols because the n(o)-->sigma*(S-N) negative hyperconjugative interaction weakens the sigma bond, though the ppi-ppi interactions are reasonably strong. (C) 2002 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
