Effects of substituted anilines and phenols on root elongation of cabbage seed

摘要
In this paper, effects of substituted anilines and phenols on root elongation of cabbage (Chinese) seed were observed, the acute toxicity towards root elongation (EC(50), mg/l) were determined. The toxicity data was interpreted by the quantitative structure-activity relationship (QSAR) method using physicochemical properties of the test compounds, which showed that the crucial factors that determine the toxicity are the lipophilicity and the electronic effect of the organic chemicals, they both increase the toxicity.
