摘要
We have studied the effect of various sputtering and annealing conditions on the structural and magneto-transport properties of (Co90Fe10/Cu)(8) multilayers. The effect of various sputtering gases (Ar, Kr and Xe) on the structural, magnetic and magnetoresistive properties has been studied. The results of this study indicate a decrease in the interface roughness of the as-prepared multilayers as the mass of the sputtering gas increases which in turn is associated with a decrease in the giant magnetoresistance ratio. Upon high temperature anneal the percentage increase in GMR is 3 to 500% for the case of an Ar and Xe sputtering environment, respectively.
