Crystal growth of PdCoO2, PtCoO2 and their solid-solution with delafossite structure

摘要
Crystal growth of noble metal oxides PdCoO2, PtCoO2 and their solid-solution with the rhombohedral delafossite structure has been examined. The crystals have a silver metallic luster and a well-habited form, The maximum size of PdCoO2 is about 0.8 x 0.8 x 0.1 mm(3) whereas that of PtCoO2 is about 30 mu m in edge distance. The crystal size is almost proportional to the starting ratio of PdCl2, indicating an important role of PdCl2 on crystal growth. The magnetic susceptibilities of PdCoO2, PtCoO2 and (Pd0.35Pt0.65)CoO2 measured from 5 to 300 K shows a Curie-Weiss-like temperature dependence.
