摘要
1. The antihypertensive drug carvedilol and the antiinflammatory selenoorganic compound ebselen were tested for their ability to react with the reactive oxygen species hypochlorous acid (HOCl) in vitro. 2. Carvedilol scavenges HOCl at a rate sufficient to protect a model molecule catalase against inactivation by HOCl. 3. Ebselen was resistant to HOCl when its glutathione peroxidase mimetic property was compared with that of glutathione peroxidase. Copyright (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Inc.
