A submerged osteodistraction device: An innovative technique for experimental animal studies

摘要
The author presents a submerged mandibular distraction device that can be used in the rabbit mandible for additional experimental studies of the distraction osteogenesis process. A distracter to suit the rabbit mandible was designed by the author. It is fixed to the mandible under layers of skin and mucoperiosteum. It can distract both sides of the mandible simultaneously without the need for two separate devices. The body of the distracter is 1.5 x 1.0 cm, and the total length is 3 cm. It weighs 2 g.
