摘要
Tests have been carried out on the effects of ageing and fading of alpha particle tracks in CR-39 of the type used in the NRPB area radon detector. The tests showed that there were no significant effects over three months, the normal exposure period for the radon detectors. However, ageing and fading of the CR-39 in air over longer periods resulted in reduced sensitivity.
