摘要：

A total synthesis of (2S,4R)-5,5-dichloroleucine is reported in 13 steps from (S)-methyl 2-(hydroxymethyl) propanoate. A density functional J-based analysis of this compound and a comparison with that of its (2S,4S) epimer is also performed in order to complete our study of J-configurational assignments in 1,3-nitrogen-containing acyclic moieties.
