摘要
This study examines the effects of the labor-market conditions and sex composition of sixteen academic disciplines on the average 1988-89 entry-level salaries of faculty. Findings from both cross-sectional and dynamic models show that, after controlling for the effects of human capital and productivity measures, labor-market conditions influence average salaries, but so too does the sex composition of academic disciplines.
