摘要
The question of ''rehab readiness'' for intensive, acute rehabilitation is a difficult one to answer for the patient who is minimally conscious. By using a quantitative evaluation, based on the principles of single subject design and methodology, the authors suggest a more definitive assessment method that can provide the treatment team, family, and insurer with direction for treatment planning. Using a case presentation format, clinical and insurer issues are highlighted, The authors propose a three-step plan for determining whether a minimally conscious patient is a rehabilitation candidate.
