摘要
Advances in understanding the feline immune system have demonstrated that feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) infection results in an immunodeficiency in cats that is similar to AIDS in humans. As reviewed here by Brian Willett, Norman Flynn and Margaret Hosie, the induction of protective immunity to FIV infection using inactivated virus vaccines offers hope for the development of a successful vaccine for AIDS.
