Spin-glass precursors in bcc-Manganese

摘要
We report calculations of certain stable spin arrangements which are spin-spiral like states in b.c.c.-Mn. The stability range of these spin-spiral states depends sensitively on the volume and lies between ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic phases. Our results show that various spin-spiral states can coexist in a narrow energy range and thus can be interpreted as a precursor for a spin-glass. (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
