Hormone replacement therapy for 3 months significantly improved carotid arterial compliance. determined by magnetic resonance imaging of the common carotid arteries and blood pressure measurements. in 22 healthy postmenopausal women compared with placebo period measurements in this randomized, double-blind, crossover trial. This effect was independent of changes in serum levels of lipids or markers of inflammation.
