Computers are interacting with human being through speech and accomplishing useful work. As such the machines are doing what most two-year-olds can do: identify spoken words and answer back. Authors consider the commercial availability of continuous speech recognition systems in the past year and present a diagram with forecasting of advanced speech technologies development up to 2006.
