Spin trapping of superoxide in the presence of β-cyclodextrins

摘要
The trapping of superoxide anion with DMPOdagger and DEPMPOdagger has been carried out in the presence of a methylated P-cyclodextrin, Me-beta-CDdagger; inclusion of the spin adducts in the cavity of Me-beta-CD resulted in a seven-fold increase of their half-life (t(1/2) = 96 min for DEPMPO-superoxide spin adduct) and in their protection towards glutathione peroxidase (Gpx) and also ascorbate anion in the case of DEPMPO.
