Charge transfer in collisions of an H+ ion with a ground-state Mg atom at low keV collision energies

摘要
We have calculated single charge transfer cross sections for collisions of ground state Mg atoms with H+ ions at low keV collision energies, using a molecular orbital expansion method within a semi-classical impact parameter approach, and including fourteen molecular states. The calculated single charge transfer cross sections agree fairly well with experimental data above similar to 3 keV collision energies. However, at lower energies, the cross sections become larger than the measurements. Below 1 keV, the cross section shows oscillatory structures caused by interference with a channel which leads to the excited Mg(3s3p) atom.
