A Polythiophene Derivative with Superior Properties for Practical Application in Polymer Solar Cells

摘要
A polythiophene derivative called PDCBT, which has a backbone of thiophene units and just carboxylate functional groups to modulate its properties, exhibits properties superior to those of poly(3-hexylthiophene), the classic polythiophene derivative, when used as an electron donor in polymer solar cells (PSCs). The best device, based on PDCBT/PC71BM (1:1), develops a good power conversion efficiency of 7.2%. © 2014 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
