Mixed valence complexes incorporating Ru-III and Fe-II: Synthesis, characterization, kinetics and physico-chemical studies

摘要
A set of new mixed valence complexes of the type Na-3[(edtaH)Ru(III)LFe(II)(CN)(5)], where L = pyz, bp, dmbp, etybp or tmbp, has been synthesized and characterized by physico-chemical methods. The kinetics of formation of these binuclear complexes were studied using a stopped-flow spectrophotometer. Electrochemical studies for these complexes show only a weak metal-metal interaction in the ground state. All these complexes, except the one incorporating tmbp, gave an MMCT band in the region 900 < lambda < 1000 nm and belong to the Robin-Day class II type. Copyright (C) 1997 Elsevier Science Ltd.
