Studying the current status of technology adoption

摘要
A study of various factors that affects the technology adoption in the value chain by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), is presented. SMEs that employ approximately half of the all private-sector employees, are important to the US economy and high-tech sector. It play a critical role in nurturing industrial innovation. The implementation of technologies the entireeentire value chain, including the primary activities of manufacturing and supporting activities such as administration, human resources management and design was examined. It was observed that SMEfocusedoccused more in employing technologies such as CAD,and CNC to support core operational activities and on building their core competencies than competencies in marketing managemenmanagementnagenet and customers appeared to have high impact than vendors, medigovernmentrenment. The study helps government to formulate effective policies, fiscal incentives and assistance programs for the SEMs in the Boston area.
