摘要
The U.S. military has a long tradition of providing emergency humanitarian assistance to civilian populations overwhelmed by natural disasters or civil strife. Military medicine is designed primarily to provide operational support for combat-oriented missions. The humanitarian relief mission requires different doctrine, configuration, supplies, and training for proper response. The Naval Reserve Fleet Hospital can be used as a crisis-response asset tasked for this specific mission to lessen the negative impact on active duty military operations and medical treatment facilities.
