摘要
We model stochastic extended object motion on a periodic non-symmetric substrate by considering the Brownian dynamics of a rigid rod in the presence of dichotomous noise. We calculate analytically the current induced by the nonequilibrium fluctuations and show that it changes sign depending on the rod length. The effect of current reversal, which is also confirmed through stochastic simulations, provides a possible explanation for protein motion in opposite directions on a microtubule.
