摘要
One of the most promising principles for NO sensing in automotive exhaust gases today relies on amperometric sensors based on zirconia. The fact that materials at present used in potentiometric lambda oxygen gauges are very reliable in exhaust gases led us to mount such a gauge amperometrically. Apart from the good stability of the current levels, the investigation of a Bosch LSH6-type gauge showed that its sensitivity to NO was comparable to its sensitivity to oxygen when the external spinel-coated electrode was used as the cathode (direct bias). The disappearance of this sensitivity with a reverse bias demonstrates that MgAl2O4 plays a key role in the catalytic dissociation of nitrogen monoxide.
