X-ray diffractometric and spectroscopic analysis of renal calculi

摘要：

Fifteen renal calculi (RC) samples were studied in vitro using X-ray diffractometer and X-ray fluorescence spectrometer to investigate their crystalline phases and chemical composition. Almost all the samples were found to contain calcium oxalate monohydrate either in major or in trace amount. Five samples have the presence of pure cholesterol. Superposition of peaks of cholesterol and calcium oxalate monohydrate was observed.
