Liquid chromatography -: mass spectrometry in the analysis of emerging environmental contaminants

摘要
The emerging environmental contaminants are analyzed with the help of ultra-performance liquid chromatography and high-accuracy mass spectrometry. The main advances improving the sensitivity and specificity of environmental analyses are the application of tandem MS instruments and LC-hybrid MS. Confirmation of the identity of the target compound is achieved by monitoring two characteristic precursor-product transitions, which earns four identification points and fulfils the requirements for identification and confirmation of environmental contaminants. A number of analytical methods using triple quadrupole (QqQ) LC-MS and TOF and Q-TOF instruments are developed for analysis of different classes of emerging contaminants.
