摘要
I discuss recent work on the nature of relativistic winds from rotation powered pulsars, focussing on how that energy drives the dynamics of the region where the outflow gets converted to observable synchrotron emission, and on the recent rediscovery that force free winds behave as linear accelerators, with terminal particle energy comparable to the electric potential energy per particle across the open field lines of the outflow.
