This review aims to give insight into the state of art in the field of the application of heterogeneous catalysts in coupling reactions to synthetic chemists. The scope, limitations and problems associated with the application of heterogeneous catalysts in coupling reactions are covered. Topics discussed include the (1) Suzuki reactions, (2) Heck reactions, (3) Sonogashira reactions, (4) Stille, Fukuyama, and Negishi reactions, (5) Ullmann-type coupling reactions, (6) homocoupling of arylboronic acids, pyridines and alkynes and (7) Pd on solid support in tandem reactions.
