摘要
The authors analyzed the effect of serotonin transporter genetic (5HTT) variants on susceptibility to obesity using a family-based method. Obese females with impulsivity showed a preferential transmission of allele 'l' (X2TDT=4.24, P=0.03). This finding might indicate that gender differences in the function of the serotonin system could be relevant as a risk factor for the development of psychopathological traits such as impulsivity in females with obesity.
