New magnetic field-sensitive hydrogels have been synthesized using cross-linked poly(vinylalcohol) with attached subdomain particles of Fe3O4 (size similar to 100 Angstrom), The SANS experiments in held (B similar to 3 kG) have shown binding to the network of particles. No translational diffusion of Fe3O4 particles was observed. In ferrogel dynamics the stretched oscillating modes (frequency similar to 10(8) Hz) arising from fast Neel's fluctuations of particles magnetic moments dominate (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
