Glances on the myrmecophily in French Guiana.: The devices of Maieta guianensis absorption and the triple Philodendron-ants-Aleyrodiciae association

The myrmecophily in French Guiana is recognized as a major ecological fact. Associations are presented according to their degree of specialization in the myrmecophilous function, that is their evolutionary level. So, distinguish themselves diffuse or coincidental, stable and strict interactions represented to the ground plants and the epiphytes. The foliar domatia of Maieta guianensis associated to ants Pheidole minutula in a strict relation develops internal emergences containing a tissue of transfusion conferring them a role in the absorption of the nitrogenous waste accumulated by ants. To epiphytes a coincidental Philodendron-Crematogaster association grew rich of a breeding of Aleyrodidae and was transformed into stable relation. In every association, profits for every partners are analysed. Finally, the myrmecophily in French Guiana is considered in its global aspect.
