On the interaction between the rapidly and slowly bleaching peaks in the TL glow curves of quartz

Thermoluminescence phototransferred (PTTL) by a white bleach from the slowly bleaching peak (SBP, conventionally at 375 degrees C) in the glow curves of a sedimentary quartz into a peak near 100 degrees C (conventionally at 100 degrees C) has been studied. Evidence is presented that the source is indeed the SBP and that the 100 degrees C peak so produced is the same as produced by a yellow bleach of the rapidly bleaching peak (RBP, conventionally at 325 degrees C). The implications of these findings together with those of earlier work for the interaction between the RBP and SBP electron trap/recombination center systems are discussed.
