摘要
The new concept of biomedicalization retains form the intital concept of medicalisation concern with expansions of professional jurisdiction, however its modus operandi are understood as technoscientifically-based and organized innovations that do not merely supplement what was, but transform it. Here the key agents of change are understood as technoscientifically-based. In this paper we frame key elements of new biomedicalization: theory: risk and surveillance, the technoscientization of biomedicine, the transformation of knowledge production, information management and distribution, the transformation of bodies, and the political economic constitution of the Biomedical TechnoService Complex(TM), Inc. In conclusion, we reflect upon the rhizomic globalizations of the new biomedicine and the new biomedicalization.
