摘要
The evolution of transient pressure waves in liquids and quasi-static stresses in solid materials under pulsed laser irradiation was studied. The quasi-static thermoelastic stresses developed because of the presence of boundary constraints that prevented expansion. It was observed that the photomechanical effects contributed to material removal in short pulse laser interactions.
