Application of the analytic hierarchy process in agriculture in developing countries

The use of qualitative judgements in multicriteria decision models is receiving increasing attention and a variety of approaches have been developed which cover a wide range of techniques. One method which has received increasing attention in the literature is the relatively recently developed analytic hierarchy process (AHP). This method has been widely documented in a variety of problem ai eas. With the exception of a few cases, this qualitative decision-making technique has not been used extensively in agricultural decisions in developing countries.
