Fuzzy neural networks (FNN) are systems that apply neural network principles to fuzzy reasoning. Basically, they emulate fuzzy logic controllers. This type of fuzzy logic controller emulation has the advantages that it can automatically identify fuzzy rules and tune membership functions for a problem. A neuro-fuzzy controller has been applied to a stator flux-oriented vector-controlled drive.
