(Chemical Equation Presented) Hafnocene and hydrazine: The addition of two equivalents of carbon dioxide to the hafnocene dinitrogen complex 1 proved effective for the formation of nitrogen-carbon bonds directly from N2 and CO2. Subsequent treatment of 2 with Me3Sil liberated the dicarboxylated silyl-substituted hydrazine 3. © 2007 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
