A dinuclear iron(III) complex with a bridging urea anion: implications for the urease mechanism

摘要
A novel complex [Fe-2(III)(mu-O){mu-OC(NH2)NH}(tpa)(2)](ClO4)(3) [tpa = tris(2-pyridylmethyl)amine] has been synthesized and fully characterized; its formation from urea and the [Fe-2(III)(mu-O)(tpa)(2)(OH)(H2O)](3+) precursor in aqueous acetonitrile is a reversible multistep process.
